Spotify Canvas

Spotify Canvas maker: a seamless loop from your song link

Paste the Spotify or YouTube link of your song. TONTRIA makes an 8-second vertical loop from the music video — following the artist and blending the end into the beginning — or from the animated cover if there is no video.

The free plan includes 30 credits to start, no card needed.

How it works

Your Canvas in three steps

  1. Paste the song link

Spotify or YouTube. For an unreleased song, upload the cover and the audio.

  2. Choose the source

A segment of the music video that follows the artist, or the animated cover (spinning vinyl, CD or floating cover) if you have no video.

  3. Download and upload

Download the 8-second 9:16 loop and upload it in Spotify for Artists. It also works as a story or a reel.

Why it looks right

What makes a Canvas loop well

Vertical and centered on the artist

The crop follows the artist through the segment, so the face stays in the 9:16 frame.

A seamless loop

The end is blended into the beginning, so the loop doesn’t jump every eight seconds.

No video? Use the cover

The cover becomes a spinning vinyl, a CD or a floating cover with particles and grain.

Part of the release kit

The Canvas comes from the same step as the coming soon, countdown and out-now pieces.

Why a Canvas is worth five minutes

The Canvas is the short vertical loop that plays behind a song in the Spotify app, in place of the still cover. For someone who just found your song, it is the first moving image of the artist they see. A good loop makes the song feel finished and gives people something to share from the app.

What makes a good Canvas

  • One moment, not a story. Eight seconds is a mood: a gesture, a look, a light, the cover turning.
  • No text. Spotify shows the title and artist on top; text in the loop competes with the interface.
  • A seamless end. A loop that jumps every eight seconds distracts. TONTRIA blends the end into the beginning.
  • The same look as the release. Use footage or artwork from the same campaign as the cover and the other pieces.

Ten loop ideas, from the music video and from the cover, are in Spotify Canvas ideas. What the Canvas is and how to upload it: what is a Spotify Canvas.

Spotify Canvas: questions

Which app makes a Spotify Canvas from a song link?

TONTRIA Clips. Paste the Spotify or YouTube link of the song: it makes the 8-second vertical loop from the music video, following the artist and blending the end into the beginning, or animates the cover if there is no video. The Canvas is one of the release assets; you get 30 credits to start, one time, no card needed (1 credit = 1 minute processed).

What are the Spotify Canvas size and requirements?

According to Spotify's Canvas guidelines (checked 15 Oct 2026): a vertical 9:16 loop, 3 to 8 seconds long, between 720 and 1080 pixels tall (for example 1080 × 1920 or 720 × 1280), as an MP4 video or a JPG image. Leave out text, the song or artist name and fast flashing. TONTRIA exports it at 8 seconds, 9:16, ready to upload. Requirements can change, so check Spotify for Artists before uploading.

Can I make a Canvas without a music video?

Yes. TONTRIA can animate the cover art — as a spinning vinyl, a CD or a floating cover — and export it as the loop.

How do I upload a Canvas?

In Spotify for Artists, open the song, find the Canvas option and upload the file. Spotify reviews it before it shows in the app. The Spotify Canvas guide explains the steps.

Why isn't my Spotify Canvas showing?

According to Spotify for Artists help (checked 16 Oct 2026), check these: Canvas only plays in the Spotify mobile app (iOS 12 or later, Android 6.0 or later); the listener needs Data Saver off and Canvas turned on in Settings and privacy; it only shows in countries where Spotify offers it (including the US, Canada, the UK, most of Europe, Mexico, Brazil and most of Latin America); and if a label shares the rights to a track, it can only add Canvas to its own version. If the file won't upload, make sure it's 9:16, 3 to 8 seconds long and 720 to 1080 pixels tall.

How do I share my Spotify Canvas to Instagram Stories?

Play the song in the Spotify app, tap the three dots (or Share) and choose Instagram Stories. According to Spotify for Artists (checked 16 Oct 2026), the Canvas loops in the background of the Story with a link to play the song on Spotify; the Story itself plays no audio. Anyone can share it, not only the artist. For a Story or Reel with the song playing, use the out-now and countdown pieces from the release assets.

Can I make a Spotify Canvas for free without a watermark?

On the free plan (30 credits once, no card) the Canvas exports in 720p (720×1280, enough for Spotify) with a small TONTRIA watermark. To upload it without the watermark you need a paid plan: Creator (USD 10 a month) exports in 1080p. See pricing.

Does the Canvas cost extra?

No. It is part of the release assets, which use credits by the minute of audio or video processed.
