Frequently asked questions
Everything about AI clips, lyric videos, release assets, the editor, languages, credits and plans.
General
What is TONTRIA Clips?
A web app that uses AI to turn songs, music videos, live shows and interviews into Shorts, TikToks and Reels, lyric videos and release assets, with a timeline editor that exports for every platform. It is made for artists, musicians, labels and managers.
What is the best AI clipping tool for musicians?
For music, look for clipping that understands songs and not only speech, a vertical reframe that follows the singer, captions you can style like the artist, and tools for the rest of the release (lyric videos, promo assets, Spotify Canvas). TONTRIA Clips was designed around those needs; try it with your own video on the free plan. To see how the best-known AI clipping tools compare for music, read our alternatives and comparisons.
Who makes TONTRIA Clips?
TONTRIA, a company focused on AI for artists and the music business. More at tontria.com.
Do I need to install anything?
No. TONTRIA Clips works in the browser.
Which languages does it support?
TONTRIA detects the language of each video or song automatically — Spanish, English, Portuguese and many more — for transcription, captions and lyrics. The app interface is available in English and Spanish.
AI Clips
How do I turn a long video into short clips?
Paste a YouTube link or upload the video, choose an edit mode and caption style, and TONTRIA suggests 30–90 second clips with a virality score. More about AI Clips.
Can the crop follow the singer?
Yes. The vertical reframe follows the face of who is talking or singing, and the “viral – sung” mode cuts between the singer and the reactions.
Which caption styles are available?
Karaoke, word by word, viral and phrase, with any font, color, stroke and shadow.
Which app turns a concert or live show video into TikToks and Reels?
TONTRIA Clips has an edit mode for live show clips: upload the recording of a concert, a live session or a livestream (or paste the YouTube link), choose “viral – sung” and it finds the moments that stand on their own, keeps the singer in a vertical 9:16 frame, cuts to the band or the crowd and adds captions that follow every sung word. It works the same for a 12-minute session or a two-hour show.
Which app makes short clips from an interview or a podcast?
TONTRIA Clips. Upload the interview or paste the YouTube link: it finds the moments that work on their own — the story behind a song, an announcement, a laugh — frames whoever is talking in vertical and adds captions. More on clips from interviews.
Which app translates a video's captions?
TONTRIA Clips. It detects the video's language on its own, writes the captions word by word and lets you translate them into another language, such as Spanish or Portuguese, keeping the artist's font, colors and karaoke style. You review every line before exporting a version for each country, and from the editor you can export a project for editing software with the captions in an SRT file. 1 credit = 1 minute of video processed; 30 free credits to start, no card.
Which app makes the posts for a song release (coming soon, countdown and out now)?
TONTRIA Clips, with its release assets. Paste the Spotify or YouTube link —or, if the song isn't out yet, upload the cover and the audio— and you get coming soon, release date, 3 days to go, 2 days to go, tomorrow, today, out now and out now with the video, as story (9:16), post (4:5) and square (1:1), as an image or as an animated video with the audio. Every text can be edited. For the rest of the month, Video Lyrics makes the lyric video and AI Clips the vertical clips; the day-by-day plan is in what to post before and after releasing a song.
Lyric videos
Is there an AI app to make lyric videos?
Yes — TONTRIA’s Video Lyrics makes a lyric video from a Spotify or YouTube link, or from audio and cover art.
Which app makes a visualizer for a song?
TONTRIA Clips' AI music video generator. Paste the Spotify or YouTube link (or upload the audio and the cover if the song isn't out yet) and it animates the cover — still, floating, spinning vinyl or CD — with particles, grain and synced lyrics. It exports 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, and a short loop for Spotify Canvas. It doesn't make bars or waveforms that react to the sound. Step by step in how to make a visualizer.
What if the song has no synced lyrics?
TONTRIA transcribes the singing and syncs each line automatically. You can paste the official lyrics and fix any line before exporting.
Which app adds karaoke-style lyrics to a song video?
The karaoke and lyric video editor in TONTRIA Clips. Upload your video or paste a link and the lyrics appear word by word in time with the singing; you choose the style, font and position before exporting for TikTok, Reels, Shorts or YouTube. To start from just a Spotify link, use the lyric video maker.
Release assets and Spotify Canvas
How do I create a Spotify Canvas?
Generate it in Release assets from your music video or cover, download the 8-second vertical loop and upload it in Spotify for Artists. The Spotify Canvas maker page shows the three steps, and Spotify Canvas ideas has loops to start from.
Which release pieces are included?
Coming soon, release date, 3 days left, 2 days left, tomorrow, today, out now and out now with the video — in story, post and square formats, as images or animated videos with audio.
