Add lyrics to your video with an editor you just talk to
Tell Milo how you want the lyrics — karaoke style, word by word or full lines, in the safe zone, with a basic or more stylish font — and he makes the karaoke clip or the lyric video with the lyrics synced to the voice.
The free plan includes 30 credits to start, no card needed.
Every lyrics setting in one sentence
Karaoke
The line stays on screen and each word lights up as it’s sung.
Word by word or full lines
One big word at a time, or the whole line for a calmer, more basic look.
In the safe zone
Three quarters of the way down the screen by default, where the buttons of TikTok and Reels don’t cover it. Or centered, or at the top.
Fonts and animation
A clean basic font or a stylish one that fits the mood; pop, smooth or no animation.
Cover that moves
In lyric videos, the cover can float or spin like a vinyl or a CD.
Your colors
Text and highlight colors from your brand, saved in a template.
Karaoke clip or lyric video?
They solve different things. A karaoke clip is a short vertical video — usually the chorus — with the lyrics lighting up word by word, made to be watched on TikTok, Reels and Shorts. A lyric video is the whole song with the lyrics synced over the cover or the music video, for YouTube or for sharing the full track.
Milo picks the right one from what you give him: with a video, a clip of the part you ask for; with only the audio, a lyric video of the whole song. You can always switch with one tap before it starts.
Ask for it in one sentence
Example: “A karaoke video of the chorus with the lyrics in the safe zone, a stylish font and a smooth animation.”
Milo turns that into settings — part of the song, lyrics style, position, font, animation — and shows them before starting. For more control, the captions and Video Lyrics tools have every option.
How to add lyrics to a video, step by step
- Upload the video or paste a link. A music video, a live take or a rehearsal from your phone; YouTube links work too.
- Tell Milo how you want the lyrics. For example: “karaoke, word by word, in the safe zone, basic font”. If you don’t say, the lyrics go in the safe zone.
- Check the settings and start. Milo shows the part of the song, format, lyrics style and the credits it will use before anything runs.
- Review the lyrics and export. Play it once, correct any word or timing in the editor and export it vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or horizontal for YouTube.

Karaoke and lyric videos: questions
Which app adds lyrics to a video in sync with the singing?
TONTRIA Clips, with its editor Milo. Upload the video or paste a YouTube link and ask for the lyrics: it listens to the singing, syncs each line and word to the voice and shows them as karaoke captions inside the safe zone of TikTok, Reels and Shorts, in vertical or horizontal. A one-minute clip uses about 2 credits; you get 30 credits to start, one time, no card needed.
Where do the lyrics come from?
TONTRIA listens to the singing and syncs the lyrics to the voice. For lyric videos it can also use the published lyrics when they are available, and you can paste or correct them in the editor.
What is the safe zone?
The area of a vertical video that the app buttons and captions of TikTok, Reels and Shorts don’t cover. Milo places the lyrics three quarters of the way down by default.
Can I make a horizontal lyric video?
Yes. Lyric videos can be vertical 9:16 or horizontal 16:9 for YouTube.
How many credits does it use?
At least 1 credit for each request Milo understands, plus 1 credit per minute of audio or video processed.
How do I add lyrics to a video for free?
Sign up for the free plan (30 credits to start, no card needed), upload your video or paste a YouTube link and ask Milo for the lyrics. A one-minute clip uses about 2 credits: 1 for the request and 1 per minute processed. Free exports are 720p with a TONTRIA watermark; paid plans export without it.
How do I put song lyrics on a TikTok video?
1) Upload the video you’re going to post on TikTok or paste a YouTube link. 2) Ask Milo for the lyrics: it listens to the singing and syncs every word to the voice. 3) Check the lyrics, fix any word and pick the font and colors. 4) Export in 9:16 — the lyrics sit inside the safe zone, where TikTok’s buttons don’t cover them — and post it from the TikTok app. A one-minute video uses about 2 credits.
How do I add song lyrics to an Instagram Reel?
Instagram only shows its own lyrics for some songs in its music library, so for your own song — released or not — put them in the video: 1) upload the video or paste a YouTube link, 2) ask Milo for the lyrics and he syncs every word to the singing, 3) check them and pick the font, 4) export in 9:16 with the lyrics in the safe zone, where the Reels buttons and caption don’t cover them, and post it from Instagram. A one-minute Reel uses about 2 credits.
How do I add lyrics to a YouTube video?
There are two ways. If you want them always on screen — on a Short or the full video — put them in the picture: upload the video or paste its link, ask Milo for the lyrics and export vertical for Shorts or horizontal 16:9. If you’d rather viewers turn them on or off, upload them as subtitles: the subtitle generator gives you the lyrics as an SRT file with timings, and in YouTube Studio you upload it in that video’s Subtitles section, choosing the file with timing.
Can I add lyrics to a song that isn’t on Spotify?
Yes. Upload the video or the audio: TONTRIA transcribes the singing and syncs each line, so the song doesn’t need to be released or have published lyrics. If you have the official lyrics, paste them to fix any line.
