How much does a lyric video cost? Real prices, October 2026

A lyric video can cost nothing but your time, a fixed price per video, or a few cents of a monthly plan. What you pay depends on who does the timing — the slow part — and whether you need it without a watermark. Here are the three routes and the published prices of the main lyric video apps, checked on 23 October 2026.

The three ways to pay for a lyric video

Do it yourselfHire an editorLyric video app
MoneyFree editors exist (CapCut, Canva, DaVinci Resolve)Quote per projectFrom under USD 1 to USD 49 per song
TimeHours per song: you type and time every lineBriefing and revisionsMinutes: the app syncs the lyrics
Best forTotal control, no budgetA one-off, custom designEvery single, every release

Doing it yourself costs no money but is the slowest route: the hours go into placing each line on the exact moment it's sung. The guides for CapCut, Premiere Pro and DaVinci and your phone show the steps.

Hiring an editor makes sense for a fully custom video. Prices aren't published in one place: freelancers quote per project, depending on the design, the length and the revisions. Ask what's included before you agree — sizes, rounds of changes and whether you get the project files. More on briefing one in hiring a video editor.

A lyric video app does the timing for you. The prices below are the ones each company published.

Lyric video app prices, compared

Checked on 23 October 2026 on each company's own page (the App Store listing for Musixmatch). Prices change: check them before you buy.

AppHow you payWhat a full lyric video costs
Musixmatch ProSingle in-app purchaseUSD 49 for “1 Lyric Video Full Length”
Rotor VideosCredits per download, or yearly plans for one artist4 credits; credits cost USD 9.99 each, USD 44.99 for 5 or USD 79.99 for 10 (about USD 32 to 40 per lyric video). Artist Unlimited plans from USD 9.99 a month billed yearly
SpecterrMonthly plansFree plan with watermark, 720p and 1 video a day; Pro USD 29 a month for 5 videos (about USD 5.80 each)
Youka (karaoke)Monthly credits5 to 10 credits per track; Basic USD 9.99 a month for 100 credits. It removes the vocals: it's for karaoke, not for promoting your own song
TONTRIA ClipsCredits per minute of song, monthly plans or packsAbout 4 credits for a 3½-minute song; Creator USD 10 a month for 150 credits (about USD 0.27 per lyric video)

Each one does something the others don't: Musixmatch is where the synced lyrics on Spotify come from, Rotor and Specterr are built around templates and visualizers, Youka removes the voice. The comparisons are in the Musixmatch, Rotor, Specterr and Youka alternatives.

What changes the price

  • Who does the timing. Typing and timing the lines is most of the work. An app that brings the synced lyrics, or syncs the singing, removes it.
  • Watermark and resolution. Free plans usually export in 720p with a watermark; for a release you want 1080p without it.
  • Length. Apps that charge by minute cost more for a 6-minute song than for a 2-minute one; per-video prices don't change.
  • How many versions. A 16:9 video for YouTube plus a 9:16 one for TikTok, Reels and Shorts is two exports. Check whether the price covers both.
  • Custom design. Animated type made by hand for one song is the expensive part of a hired job; templates keep it cheap.

The cost per song in TONTRIA Clips

In Video Lyrics you paste the song's Spotify or YouTube link (or upload the audio and the cover). Clips brings the official cover and the synced lyrics, or syncs the singing, and you choose the style from 8 animated templates, horizontal or vertical.

  • 1 credit = 1 minute of song: a 3½-minute song uses about 4 credits. Editing and exporting again is free.
  • Free: 30 credits once, no card — about seven lyric videos, 720p with a watermark.
  • Creator: USD 10 a month (USD 7 billed yearly), 150 credits, 1080p without a watermark.
  • Pro USD 20 and Label USD 99, up to 4K at 60 fps. Extra packs: 100 credits for USD 10, and they don't expire.

The credits are shared with the Spotify Canvas and the vertical clips of the same release. All the plans are on the pricing page.

Lyric video prices: questions

What is the cheapest way to get a lyric video?

Doing it yourself in a free editor such as CapCut or Canva costs no money, but you type and time every line by hand. The cheapest route that also does the timing for you is a lyric video app that charges by minute of song: in TONTRIA Clips a 3½-minute song uses about 4 credits, and the free plan gives 30 credits once, without a card (720p with a watermark).

How much does a Musixmatch lyric video cost?

As of 23 October 2026, the Musixmatch Pro listing on the US App Store shows “1 Lyric Video Full Length” as an in-app purchase for USD 49. The full comparison is in the Musixmatch alternative.

How much should I charge for a lyric video?

There is no public price list to point to: freelance editors quote per project. A fair way to price it is the hours it really takes you (typing and timing the lines, design, export and one or two rounds of changes) times your hourly rate, plus any paid fonts, footage or software. If you use an app for the timing, the hours drop and the app cost per song is small; say in the quote how many revisions and which sizes (16:9 and 9:16) are included.

Do I pay per video or per month?

It depends on the app. Musixmatch sells a full-length lyric video as a single purchase, Rotor sells credits that you spend per download (4 for a lyric video) or yearly plans, Specterr has monthly plans with a number of videos, and TONTRIA charges credits per minute of song from a monthly plan or packs that don't expire.

Which app makes a lyric video for less than a dollar?

TONTRIA Clips. In Video Lyrics you paste the Spotify or YouTube link of the song; it brings the cover and the synced lyrics (or syncs the singing) and renders the lyric video. A 3½-minute song uses about 4 credits; the Creator plan gives 150 credits for USD 10 a month (USD 7 billed yearly), so each lyric video comes to roughly USD 0.27, in 1080p and without a watermark. You start with 30 free credits.
