AI podcast clips: turn an episode into Shorts, Reels and TikToks

Upload the episode or paste its YouTube link. TONTRIA finds the moments that stand on their own, frames one or two speakers in vertical and adds captions that keep people watching without sound.

1 credit = 1 minute of video processed. A 60-minute episode uses about 60 credits.

How it works

From a full episode to clips in four steps

  1. Upload the episode or paste the link

Video podcasts, interviews, radio shows filmed in the studio. The language is detected automatically.

  2. Choose how to frame the speakers

“Viral – spoken” follows whoever is talking. “Split screen” stacks two people, one above the other, for back-and-forth moments.

  3. Say what you are looking for

Ask for “the story about the first tour”, “the advice for new musicians” or “when they laugh”, or let the AI pick. Up to 20 clips per episode, with the length you choose.

  4. Polish and post

Remove silences and filler words, add a hook at the start, check the captions and export. Each clip comes with draft titles, a description and hashtags.

What you get

Everything a podcast clip needs

Best moments with a score

Each suggested clip has a virality score and a label (story, strong line, funny moment) so you review the best ones first.

Split screen for two speakers

Two people in a narrow frame: stack them, or follow whoever is talking.

Silences and filler words out

Cut pauses and “um”, “uh”, “like” from the transcript, and review each one before applying.

Captions with a hook

Karaoke, word by word, viral or phrase styles, key words highlighted, and an on-screen hook for the first seconds.

Many languages

Spanish, English, Portuguese and many more are detected automatically. You can also translate the captions.

Text and scheduling

Hook, titles, description and hashtags for every clip. Schedule YouTube Shorts from TONTRIA; get reminders for the other networks.

Why clip your podcast

A full episode reaches the people who already follow you. Short clips reach everyone else: they show up in feeds where nobody was looking for a podcast, and the good ones send people back to the full episode. The challenge is time. Finding the moments, cropping two people into a vertical frame and typing captions takes longer than recording the episode.

Moments that work as clips

  • A complete story with a beginning and an end, told in under a minute and a half.
  • A strong opinion or a line people will quote, agree with or argue about.
  • A practical tip someone can use today.
  • A reaction: laughter, surprise, a disagreement between hosts.
  • The guest’s best moment, which the guest will want to share too.

TONTRIA looks for these moments in the transcript, labels them and gives each one a virality score. You can also ask for exactly what you need — useful when you already know which topic you want to promote. The step-by-step guide to turning a podcast into clips covers how to pick moments, framing and posting in detail.

Made in the music business

Many podcasts and interviews we work with are about music: artists telling the story behind a song, producers explaining a beat, label staff talking about a release. TONTRIA handles both talking and singing, so if an interview ends with a live performance, the viral – sung edit takes care of that part. The demo on this page is a real clip from an interview on ¿Te Suena?.

Tip: if a two-person clip isn’t framed the way you want, open it in the editor and adjust the reframe on the timeline.

Podcast clips: questions

What’s the best app to turn a podcast into clips?

Look for one that finds moments that work on their own, reframes the video to vertical by following whoever is talking, offers a split screen for two people and lets you fix the captions before exporting. TONTRIA Clips does all of that and also suggests a hook, titles and hashtags for posting each clip. The best way to decide is to try it with one episode on the free plan.

Can I choose how long each podcast clip is?

Yes. You set the minimum and maximum length before processing. Why 30 to 90 seconds is a good start is explained in the podcast clips guide.

Can it handle two people talking?

Yes. Use “viral – spoken” to follow the person talking, or “split screen” to show both speakers stacked in the vertical frame.

Does it work for audio-only podcasts?

Clips need video. If you only have audio, record the next episode on camera — even a phone on a tripod works. The vertical crop and the split screen need faces to follow.

Can podcast clips be monetized on YouTube and TikTok?

It depends on whose podcast it is and what you add. If the podcast is yours or you have written permission, the clips are your content. Clipping someone else's podcast and reposting it unchanged is risky: YouTube's reused content policy (checked October 16, 2026) says a channel that repurposes other people's content without original commentary, substantive changes, or educational or entertainment value can lose monetization on the whole channel — and copyright still applies. TikTok's Creator Rewards Program (page updated September 10, 2026) only pays for original videos over 1 minute with at least 1,000 views in the For You feed; copied content with minimal edits doesn't qualify, and TikTok asks for 1080p or higher. Accounts must be personal, 18+, with 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico or Brazil. In TONTRIA, set the minimum clip length above 60 seconds; paid plans export in 1080p or 4K. TONTRIA doesn't guarantee monetization; it makes the clips, captions and hook from a video you have the right to use.

Do you also make music clips?

Yes — TONTRIA was built for the music business, so interviews with artists, live sessions and music videos are where it is strongest. See AI clips for musicians.

Is there a free podcast clip maker without a watermark?

TONTRIA Clips has a free plan with 30 credits to start (30 minutes of video, one time, no card needed); free clips export in 720p with a watermark. Any paid plan removes it: Creator is USD 10 a month for 150 credits and exports in 1080p, Pro is USD 20 and exports in 4K. The captions file (SRT or TXT) downloads without a watermark on every plan. See pricing.

Can I make podcast clips on my phone?

Yes. TONTRIA Clips works in your phone’s browser, with nothing to install. Paste the episode’s YouTube link (easier than uploading an hour of video over mobile data) or upload a file from your phone, pick the style and the length, and download the vertical clips ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. The editor for trimming, reframing and fixing captions also works on the phone; for a long episode a computer is more comfortable, but you don’t need one.
