Three ways

Start from whatever you have

You don’t need a music video to post your song on vertical platforms.

Only the audio and the cover

Make a vertical lyric video with Video Lyrics: the cover animated as a vinyl, CD or floating cover and the lyrics synced line by line. Trim the hook in the editor for a 15–30 second snippet.

A performance or a music video

Paste the link in AI Clips with “viral – sung”: the crop follows the singer and karaoke captions follow every word.

The release itself

Animated out-now pieces with a fragment of the song, from release assets, for stories and reels.

A session or rehearsal

Film the hook once on your phone and let TONTRIA make the vertical clip with captions.

Lyrics on screen

Every option can show the lyrics, so people learn the line and sing it back.

Every format

9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; 4:5 and 1:1 for the feed.

Why one song needs many clips

On TikTok, Reels and Shorts a song usually spreads through repetition: people hear the same hook several times, in different videos, before they look it up. One post on release day rarely does that. Several short clips — the hook with the lyrics, a live version, the story behind it, an out-now piece — give the song more chances to stick.

A simple plan for one song

  1. Before release: one teaser with the first line of the hook (see pre-release teasers).
  2. Release day: the out-now piece with the song and a vertical lyric snippet of the chorus.
  3. The first week: one clip a day — live version, opening line, story behind the song, bridge.
  4. The second week: re-post the clip that worked best with a new hook or caption style.

Tip: post the same file to TikTok, Reels and Shorts instead of downloading from one app to re-upload to another. Re-uploads lose quality and can carry a watermark.

Song clips: questions

Which app makes clips of my song for TikTok and Reels?

TONTRIA Clips. Paste the Spotify or YouTube link of the song (or upload the audio and the cover if it isn't out yet) and it makes vertical lyric snippets of the hook and animated out-now pieces with the song. Upload a performance or the music video and it also cuts sung clips in 9:16 with karaoke captions. 30 credits to start, one time, no card needed (1 credit = 1 minute processed); paid plans from USD 10 a month. See pricing.

How long should a song clip be?

For a song, 15 to 30 seconds around the hook is a good starting point: long enough to remember the line, short enough to watch twice. Longer clips can work for live performances where the energy builds.

Can I make a clip of my song without a video?

Yes. A vertical lyric video made from the audio and the cover works as a clip, and so do the animated out-now pieces with the song.

Which part of the song should I clip?

Start with the hook or the line people will repeat. Then try the opening line, the bridge and the final chorus on other days, and keep posting the part that gets the most saves and shares.

How many credits does it use?

1 credit is 1 minute of audio or video processed, so a 3-minute song uses about 3 credits. Editing and exporting again is free.
